Melbourne Beneteau Regatta
With a record 36 entries in this year Melbourne Beneteau Regatta, competitors were blessed with perfect weather and 5-15 knots from the North providing flat water conditions all the way from Sandringham Yacht Club out to Fawkner Beakon and up to Station Pier in Melbourne. (See course map)

A number of close battles were fought around the course against similar sized yachts with a few close calls at times, but no incidents were recorded.
Once the yachts crossed the finish line, they all made their way up the Yarra River for berthing at the Docklands which was followed up with a fantastic dinner for over 240 people at James Squire's.

Kim Edwards and Brian Dorman heading upwind to the first mark of the course.
In the end, line honours went to 'Reverie' (First 45) in the Spinnaker Division and 'Bandit' (First 40) in the non-Spinnaker Division. Corrected time winners were 'Wicked' (First 40) in the Spinnaker Division and 'True Colours' (First 36.7) in the Non-Spinnaker Division. Overall results available here along with on-board photos and video. There are also some more photos here too.

Competitors awaiting the overall results to be announced.
