New Floating Marina and Yacht Club Planned for RMYS

Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron is seeking expressions of interest for its new, state of the art floating marina at the soon to be upgraded St Kilda Harbour.

Permits have been issued for 250 floating marina pens, and RMYS, in partnership with Parks Victoria, is about to conduct final wave testing on breakwater options.

Tenders for the construction of the marina are expected to be sort towards the end of the year, with the project completed in 2011.

The location at St Kilda is widely considered to be the most desirable on Port Phillip because of the amenity of the area, with the historic RMYS club house located on the foreshore at the end of cosmopolitan Fitzroy Street.
