Investment Opportunity
As part of the $42 billion dollar incentive program
being rolled out by the Australian Government, they have put
place an investment allowance for the acquisition
of business related assets. Up to 50% investment
allowance is provided and charter yachts are
meeting the compliance requirements set down
by the ATO as being a legitimate business as
opposed to an enterprise.
These opportunitys come up very rarely, however there are now two vacancies in a
Whitsunday charter fleet for a new Beneteau Oceanis 40 and Oceanis 43. This means that 50% of your expense on purchasing either yacht is a tax deduction that is claimed up front, in the current financial year. It is not a form of rebate or grant, it is simply an additional tax deduction
over and above the depreciation.

Beneteau Race Results
The major highlight in the results over the last month has without a doubt been Mike Welsh on board their Beneteau First 40 'Wicked' (pictured below). Mike and his crew not only won the AMS division in the Queenscliffe to Stanley Race, but also finished 4th overall on IRC just behind the two 52 footers and a DK46. Well done guys!
